Worthing Symphony Orchestra Presents…
An astonishing young Swedish violinist makes his Worthing debut playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. Johan Dalene has just won the Carl Nielsen International Violin Concerto at the tender age of 18 and has already been proclaimed in BBC Music Magazine as “A rising star”. He plays Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto – the composer’s last great orchestral work which is considered to be one of the greatest violin concertos of all time.
The concert includes Prokofiev’s dazzling Classical Symphony and Mozart’s ‘Paris’ Symphony, written in 1778 when the composer was on an unsuccessful job hunting sojourn in the city. Photo Credit – Nikolaj Lund
